The Palm Springs chapter, of Les Dames d’Escoffier was established in 1996, we celebrated our 23 anniversary in October. Our mission is education, advocacy and philanthropy, to share knowledge, support members and provide leadership, educational opportunities and philanthropic events for the larger community. We are women in the multifaceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality Our chapter conducts fundraising projects and awards scholarships on various level, for deserving women.

As recipients of our scholarships progresses through her schooling, and after graduation, we continue to mentor her, and encourage her to attend our chapter’s meetings and events. Our students have attended the College of the Desert, as well as fine schools out of the area, such as the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York; Johnson & Wales, Denver, Colorado; UCLA and Cal State – Pomona. Often our recipients are young women who are the first in their families to attend college.

Les Dames d’Escoffier was founded in New York City in 1976 and is a world-wide organization of executive women of high achievement in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality. The membership consists of chefs and restaurateurs, cookbook authors, food journalists and historians, wine professionals, food publicists, culinary educators, and concierges, hotel executives, farming and tourism The by-invitation only membership, composed of over 2,400 members in 43 chapters in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Mexico.
